Max Factor VoxBox- Product Review & First Impressions!

*The products in this post were sent to me complimentary/free of charge for the purposes of testing and my honest, unbiased review*

Max Factor Products- Mulberry Lipstick, Honey Lacquer Lipgloss, Universal Lipliner

So, if you've been around the blog or beauty world for a little while you might have already heard of Influenster. If you haven't, in short it is an online community for social media and shopping lovers to share their opinions, connect and perhaps even try out new products in the form of 'Vox Boxes'. Influenster recently made it to our shores here in rainy UK, and I was lucky enough to be sent a Max Factor VoxBox.

This VoxBox was a based around lip products, so what I received was a lip gloss, lipstick and lip liner. I was a bit nervous about the shades as my pale skin is a bit unforgiving with some of the more daring shades, but they actually sent some pretty lovely colours and I was very pleased.

Swatch of Max Factor Colour Elixir Lipstick in Mulberry

The Max Factor Colour Elixir Lipstick in 'Mulberry' was hands down my favourite from the selection. In the tube it looks kinda scary- a deep red, which will make many of us run for the hills! But actually when worn it has a hint of mettalic shimmer and for some reason this tones down the in your faceness of the colour, and it really is a shade that you can wear day and night. I don't want to use the word 'buildable' as it's a bit of a beauty blogger trope to say it, but it really is! You can have just one swipe for a day look, and several for a deep, daring evening look. Love it.

Swatch of Max Factor Honey Lacquer Lipstick in Honey Nude

The Max Factor 3 in 1 Honey Lacquer Lip Gloss in 'Honey Nude' is a very gentle pinky nude coloured gloss. It's slightly sticky, as is to be expected, but not PVA glue style so fairly wearable even in the day. The colour doesn't show up as dark as the swatch on the lips, and it's not really something you can build up unless you want to clag up your lips. It's not my favourite, but I think I would still be open to exploring the other colours in the range. Also, the packaging is excellent, and we all know I'm a sucker for some fancy packaging.

Max Factor Colour Elixir Universal Lip Liner

Finally, they sent the Max Factor Colour Elixir Universal Lip Liner. This really is pretty universal- it goes on almost invisibly. You can kind of see a faint pale line which is helpful for when you're drawing it on, but once it dries it's pretty much gone. This is a great liner to keep handy for when you can't find a great match for a lipstick in your regular liner collection. I'm not great at matching liner to lipstick so this product is a really clever idea for me.

This was a really fun VoxBox to try out. I loved exploring the Max Factor Colour Elixir range, and seeing everyone else's photos and impressions on Instagram. If you fancy signing up to Influenster, you can get started over here, and to explore the Max Factor Colour Elixir range I would suggest starting on their website over here.

  2. The lip liner looks like a really good idea, I might have to try that! Also a money saver instead of buying different ones to match every shade of lippy!
