You Beauty Discovery Box- July 2017 Review

About the box
It's a bit different from most beauty subscriptions. You get a menu at the beginning of every month, and you choose from that what you want to receive that month. You usually get a couple of extra sachet type samples thrown in too.

Price
There are three membership levels.
  • Pick two products a month for £6.95
  • Pick three products a month for £8.95
  • Pick four products a month for £10.95
What I got
This months theme was 'Come Fly With Me'. As usual there was not a great deal of makeup which always disappoints me but I managed to get a full size hair product which I was quite pleased by. I stuck again with the lower tier of membership this month as not a lot else inspired me. My fingers are crossed for next month as I really don't want to end up cancelling this one, it's been fun for most of the time.

This humongous bottle is the Salon Science Hydrasoothe Cooling Spray (full size, 150ml, £10.00). This gentle spray contains 'rare organic cactus', and can be used to soothe the scalp and rehydrate the hair. I'm really pleased I picked this as I do get an irritable scalp, especially in this summer heat, and it's worth a whopping £10.

The other thing I chose this month was the Bohemian Chic Minerals Mineral Eyeshadow in Pretty in Pink (sample size, 1g, worth approx. £5.50). This is a gorgeous soft shimmery pink, which I think is an amazing summer colour. I can't wait to test it out in different eye looks on my human guinea pigs! Bohemian Chic Minerals products are cruelty free and suitable for sensitive skin.

Finally, there was a sample of the OMS Exfoliate and Resurface Mask. This sounds perfect for my congested skin so I will definitely pop it in my stash.

Final thoughts
As I said above, You Beauty hasn't thrilled me with it's shortlists lately, but I'm still holding out hope for the next month. I would love it if they could include more makeup and less skincare.
