Pink Parcel- July 2017 Review

Pink Parcel July 2017

About the box
Pink Parcel is a monthly box that sends you your period essentials (pads & tampons, or just one of either, depending on your preferences), as well as a pretty generous selection of cheery uppy stuff, like snacks, beauty items and lifestyle bits.

Price
Your first box is £6.99 and after that it is £10.50 a month (incl P&P)

What I got
This month had a some very different items, including a bracelet! How exciting! Let's dig in.

Nip and Fab Glycolic Fix Daily Cleansing Pads

Nip and Fab Glycolic Fix Daily Cleansing Pads

This item might be quite familiar to a lot of you- these are the Nip + Fab Glycolic Fix Daily Cleansing Pads (sample size, 5 pads, worth approx £1.05). These use glycolic acid as a chemical exfoliant, which I promise isn't as scary as it sounds- they're great for congested skin that needs refreshing and renewing. They also contain the good old skincare mainstay, hyaluronic acid, and blue daisy, all of which soothes, refreshes and smooths. I prefer to use these at night before bed, and I am always careful not to get them near my hairline or eyebrows as they can irritate that area if you're sensitive.

Emily Victoria Candle Coconut Bay

I love this- this is the Emily Victoria Candle in Coconut Bay (full sized tealight, £2.50). It smells incredibly coconuty, hence the name, and the dinky size is perfect for my bedside table (also perfect for my cat to knock off my bedside table when Sir Cat sees fit).

Pom Friendship Bracelet

Pom Friendship Bracelet

This is one of my favourite items in the box, the Pom Friendship Bracelet (£12.99). It was a little hard to get over my hand but I have kind of uhh...small but 'cuddly' hands shall we say, so that's probably a me issue rather than a problem with the bracelet. People with non-bear paw shaped hands probably will do fine with this. I love the little flower design, it really is lovely, and the cord is fully adjustable.

Skin Lounge Pearl Brightening Facial Mask

I've really got into K-Beauty and sheet masks lately so I was really pleased to see this, the Skin Lounge Pearl Brightening Facial Mask (full size, £4.00). This mask is formulated to soften, nourish and brighten skin, and there is no need to rinse off the serum in the mask afterwards- just massage in and go. Apparently there are various different types of these masks going out to subscribers, so you may well get a different type than me.

Urban Veda Radiance Body Scrub

I'm not keen on body scrubs as you may know if you're a regular reader, but this does smell rather nice. This is the Urban Veda Radiance Body Scrub (sample size, 50ml, worth approx. £3.24). Some subscribers will be getting the body wash version of this which I'm sad I didn't get instead but I will probably use this...eventually. It contains turmeric, marigold, patchouli and coriander to cleanse and revitalise. It is also vegetarian society approved and cruelty free.

Chirp Body Hair Mask

This is my other favourite item in the box- the Chirp Body Hair Mask (sample size, 20ml, worth approx. £3.59). This feels incredibly liquidy inside the packet, perhaps because it's made from a blend of oils, including coconut, grape, castor, argan, jojoba, avocado, grapefruit, bergamot, lemon, tea tree and ylang ylang oils. It is completely plant based and vegan friendly.

Joe and Sephs Coconut and Chia Popcorn

The first food item this month is this packet of Joe & Sephs Coconut & Chia Popcorn (sample size, 21g, worth approx. £1.00). I'm really not a fan of sweet popcorn or coconut as a flavour so I will be passing this on to my mum or sister, but I liked that they included a coupon for their online shop to explore the other flavours available.

Monty Bojangles Truffles

These are individually wrapped Monty Bojangles Truffles in various flavours. I got 'choccy', 'butterscotch' and 'orange', none of which sound particularly horrendous so I think I will venture to try these!

Hoogly Tea Chill Out Mint Herbal Infusion

I'm really pleased with the tea this month, as I drink mint tea quite a lot to settle my tummy. This tea is the Hoogly Tea Chill Out Mint Herbal Infusion. I love the packaging it comes in, I hardly want to rip it to get the tea bag out!

Final thoughts
This month was a good all rounder- nothing really blew me away but it was still a flipping brilliant box. As I always say, for £10.50 a month this box is amazing value as you essentially get a full to bursting regular beauty/lifestyle box on top of your monthly sanitary towels/tampons. If you're just venturing into the world of subscription boxes, this is definitely one I always recommend to newcomers.

If you would like to subscribe to Pink Parcel, you can find them here.

  6. You got such a lovely assortment of different types of products in this box! After I read the first paragraph of your post, I was a little puzzled by what would come in such a subscription box, but it looks like they included some fun, creative things! I love the bracelet and would definitely have eaten those truffles before I had a chance to photograph them. I applaud your restraint!
