Naturisimo Clean Colour Discovery Box Review

Naturisimo Clean Colour Discovery Box

About the box
Naturismo is an online ethical beauty company, who sell ethical beauty brands and occasionally do 'Discovery Boxes' centred around a certain theme. This particular box is the Clean Colour Discovery Box.

This box is as usual a one off, with no subscription required- just pay a flat price of £13.95, with free worldwide delivery.

What I got
I was excited to finally see another Discovery Box available from Naturismo after so long, so as soon as it arrived I was rummaging through to see what was inside. You do get an overview beforehand but I try not to spoil it too much for myself!

Vapour Organic Beauty Aura Multi Use Blush Stain Sultry

Vapour Organic Beauty Aura Multi Use Blush Stain Sultry Swatch

The first item was this extremely miniature sample of the Vapour Organic Beauty Aura Multi Use Blush Stain in Sultry (0.1g sample). This is the teeniest sample I've ever seen, it looks like it's just been shaved off a full stick of the stuff, but a little goes a long way so I think you'd still get at least three or four uses from it. It's soft and glossy in texture, slightly sticky so not something I'd choose to use as a blush or on my eyes like suggested but I would certainly use it on my lips. It comes in lots of lovely shades including Classic shades, Stain shades and Radiant shades.

Balance Me Tinted Wonder Eye Cream

Balance Me Tinted Wonder Eye Cream Swatch

Next is this Balance Me Tinted Wonder Eye Cream (sample size, 5ml). This is made in a 'universal shade' although it's obviously not- those with very pale skin and with much darker skin would not be able to use this at all. I wish companies wouldn't label things universal when it's not. To be fair, when it's blended in you can't see it very well but then it begs the question as to why it's tinted at all? Balance Me is a British based, natural skincare brand whose products are free from things such as parabens, microbeads and artificial fragrances.

Madara Organic Skincare Multi Action Micellar Water

This is the Madara Organic Skincare Multi Action Micellar Water (full size, 100ml, £14.00). This micellar water is designed for all skin types, dissolves makeup, cleanses, tones and soothes. It is also 99% natural, vegan friendly and certified organic. I tried this on a swatch of lipstick on the back of my hand and it really did dissolve the makeup straight away, and left my skin feeling soft and smooth, which I think is aided by the addition of hyaluronic acid to the formulation. I am definitely adding this to my stash.

Burts Bees Facial Cleansing Oil

I love this brand- this is the Burt's Bees Facial Cleansing Oil (sample, 29.5ml). As this is a cleansing oil I think this would go really well with the micellar water as a double cleanse regime. This product contains coconut and argan oils, and is suitable for normal to dry skin, as well as being 100% natural.

REN Satin Perfection BB Cream

REN Satin Perfection BB Cream Swatch

Another tinted cream product, this is the REN Satin Perfection BB Cream (sample, 3ml). This is meant to be suitable for light to medium skin tones, though it's certainly too dark for me so I will pass it on to my mum. You will probably get a couple of applications as again, a little goes a long way with this sample. It has UVA and UVB protection with SPF 15, and smooths and mattifies skin.

Juice Beauty Liquid Lip Gwyneth

Juice Beauty Liquid Lip Gwyneth Swatch

This is one of my favourite items from the box- the Juice Beauty Liquid Lip in Gwyneth. I think the shade, a rich berry, is named this because Juice Beauty's creative director of makeup is actually Gwyneth Paltrow. It comes out a smooth and non sticky formula. The Phyto Pigments Liquid Lip comes in 8 shades curated by Gwyneth herself and has a moisturising and conditioning effect.

Bellapierre Eyeshadow Champagne

Bellapierre Eyeshadow Champagne Swatch

Finally, my top item from the box is this dazzling Bellapierre Eyeshadow in Champagne (full size, £12.99). I couldn't find this on the Naturisimo website, but looking on the Bellapierre website I think it's actually one of their Shimmer Powder Eyeshadows. It is extremely shimmery, and a lovely icy champagne shade. I can't wait to try this out on my sister (she is my eyeshadow guinea pig!) I think you could probably use a tiny bit as a highlighter as well if you wanted to be daring.

Final thoughts
While this Discovery Box didn't thrill me as much as the last one (take a look at my review here), it was fun to unbox. I think they could have been a bit more generous with the samples for the price. However, this hasn't put me off Naturisimo Discovery Boxes as they are always so much fun to see what the latest theme is and unbox them.

This box is currently sold out, but keep an eye on the Naturisimo Instagram feed here as they often update when they are going to release a new one. You can also find their website here.

Little Known Box- June 2017 Review

Little Known Box June 2017

About the box
Little Known Box sends you around 5-6 products every month from brands that may be niche, independent or less known. This includes categories of items such as nails, hair, makeup, skincare, and more.

£14.95/month, plus £3.75 P&P

What I got
This month was no less of a packed box than last month, so I am really pleased again.

Manna Kadar Beauty Trifecta Brow Eye Cheek Powder

Manna Kadar Beauty Trifecta Brow Eye Cheek Powder

Manna Kadar Beauty Trifecta Brow Eye Cheek Powder Swatch

This is a brand I saw previously in a Love Me Beauty box (link here)- this is a Manna Kadar Beauty Trifecta Brow Eye Cheek Powder (full size, £14.95). This is a new launch, apparently so new I couldn't even find it online. The shade is a cinnamon brown, and it's meant to be able to be used as a brow powder, an eyeshadow and a bronzer. It's very soft and with little fallout.

Balm Balm Multi Purpose Lip Balm

This is another thing I've seen before, although not this exact product. It is the Balm Balm Multi Purpose Lip Balm (full size, £5.50). This is 100% natural and organic and contains nourishing shea butter, sunflower, beeswax, jojoba, calendula, and rose geranium oil. I'm not keen on rose scents but it doesn't smell too strong so I might still use it.

Samol Herbal Hair and Scalp Oil

I have never seen a product like this before and find it very intriguing- Samol Herbal Hair & Scalp Oil (travel size, 10ml, £7.19). It comes in a little dropper bottle, and it does smell very herbal. Samol products are 100% natural, cruelty free and free from parabens. I would probably use this to damp down my frizz between washes and maybe on my dry ends. You can use it on your scalp too but I probably wouldn't if you have oily scalp already.

Amie Exfoliating Polish

This brand is a regular in subscription boxes, to the point where I kind of get a bit of fatigue from seeing it. However, they are a lovely brand which are vegan friendly and suitable for sensitive skin. This is the Amie Exfoliating Polish (sample size, 25ml, worth £1.48). This contains rice granules as the exfoliating element so it is planet friendly- no nasty microbeads. I'm not keen on exfoliators like this, I prefer chemical exfoliants like salicylic acids as it doesn't agitate my skin. I know a few people who will like this though.

Africology Tonic Anti Reactive

For this item you would either receive the cleanser or tonic, and I received the tonic. This is the Africology Tonic Anti Reactive (full size??, £5.00?? bit of confusion on the information card). This is an astringent skin clarifying tonic spray which contains watercress and witch hazel. I think given it contains witch hazel this could be quite drying for some skins but my skin can definitely take it and I will love this stuff. It also contains Bladderwrack and Rooibos leaf extracts to help calm and soothe.

Native Unearthed Natural Deodorant

The final item is the same type of item I received in a Pip Box not long ago- a natural cream deodorant. This is the Native Unearthed Natural Deodorant (sample size, 30ml, approx. £3.49). You're meant to sort of scoop a bit out with your fingers and put it on your skin. I'm still sceptical as to whether this will work for me but I really will try it as I'm intrigued. This contains only 7 ingredients, with the slightest hint of lavender detectable when you sniff.

Final thoughts

Little Known Box June 2017

Little Known Box is showing that it always sends a completely full to the brim box with no teeny tiny samples. Even the sample size products are good sizes and there is a great variation of things. I am not sure if I'd call Amie little known but maybe that's just because I've read about every subscription box known to man and I'm jaded! I still love this box and will rave about them to pretty much everyone. My quest to go completely cruelty free with beauty products if continuing well.

Which Beauty Box UK Summer Beauty Edit Review

Which Beauty Box UK Summer Beauty Edit

About the box
The Summer Beauty Edit is a one off box from the amazing lady behind the Which Beauty Box UK blog. I think this is a genius idea- really, who better than someone who blogs about beauty subscription boxes to actually create one, as they are bound to know what works and what doesn't.

£37.00 one off payment, inc. P&P. Shipping is to UK Mainland only excluding Northern Ireland.

What I got
Well, this box was a bit of a hefty one! I practically fell over when the courier handed it to me and I realised how heavy it was! But, as we know, this can only bode well for a subscription box (especially if you've signed up to gold bars monthly or bricks r us). So, want to see what I found inside?

Alphabet Bags Stay Wonderful Ombre Makeup Bag

The item at the very top of the box was this gorgeous Alphabet Bags Stay Wonderful Ombre Makeup Bag (full size, £22.00). This is an absolutely enormous canvas makeup bag in a pink ombre design with gold glitter lettering. This will be a lovely choice for carrying my handbag bits around this summer.

Bloomtown Botanicals The Hedgerow Organic Hand and Body Wash

A brand I've seen before in a box not along ago, and which I do love, this is the Bloomtown Botanicals The Hedgerow Organic Hand & Body Wash (full size, 300ml, £12.00). This is an organic blackberry and honeysuckle liquid hand and body wash which comes with a pump for easy dispensing. The soap is made with moisturising coconut extract and without synthetic detergents. I love multi purpose products like this and the scent is lovely and sweet.

PHB Ethical Beauty Skin Refresh Gel Seaweed and Mint

This product actually infused the makeup bag with it's minty scent, it's that strong (but I don't mind, I like mint!) This is the PHB Ethical Beauty Skin Refresh Gel with Seaweed & Mint (full size, 120ml, £13.75). This is a liquidy gel product made with seaweed and mint, it is also natural, organic and handmade. It is a soothing product which can be used on insect bites, tired feet and heat rash. I would probably use it on my foot as well, which I broke in January and still can get quite hot and painful when I overuse it. I love cooling products like this.

Make Feet Revive Lime Lemon and Lavender Foot Cream

Here we have the Make Feet Revive Lime, Lemon and Lavender Foot Cream (full size, 50ml, £12.00). This is another one which would be lovely for my poor sore foot. I thought at first that this was a strange sort of combination of things to combine but the scent is actually quite refreshing. It also contains apricot, avocado and beeswax.

PHB Ethical Beauty Brightening Body Lotion

This is the PHB Ethical Beauty Brightening Body Lotion (travel size, 50ml, £3.95). For a travel size this is a pretty good size. Though I don't use body lotions a lot, I do put them aside for when I get really dry skin on occasion, and I love the scent of this one- it contains neroli and ylang ylang, and is vegan, cruelty free and halal.

Gifts by Little Miss Popsicle Bath Fizzy

I thought this was edible at first (I always have food on the brain!) but it is actually the Gifts by Little Miss Popsicle Bath Fizzy (full size, £3.25). I don't have a bath, I actually have a tiny bathroom with a shower but I know of quite a few people who would love this little lolly fizzy.

AA Skincare Green Tea and Aloe Vera Cleansing Wipes

I've actually seen these wipes before, in a previous You Beauty Discovery box, and I was so pleased to see them back. I'm not normally happy about repeats in my boxes but these wipes were a real hit with me. These are the AA Skincare Green Tea & Aloe Vera Cleansing Wipes (full size, £3.30). These are soothing wipes suitable for all skin types, they are biodegradable, paraben free and Ph balanced. I find these so gentle on my skin, I get a lot of problems with acne and I don't like to use anything too harsh as contrary to popular belief this can actually make matters worse!

Saturated Colour Make Me Matte Lipstick Mattifier

This was an interesting one, I'd never heard of such a thing so was very intrigued. This is the Saturated Colour Make Me Matte Lipstick Mattifier (full size, £8.00). If you have a favourite lippie but you wish it was matte, just pop it on and then swipe this on over the top. Then as if by magic the formula will be transformed to matte! I am really intrigued by this and will definitely put it to good use as I much prefer matte lip products to shiny ones.

Danglefoot Nail Polish Atlantis

Danglefoot Nail Polish Atlantis

Nearly at the end now, and this is one of my absolute favourite items in the box- the Danglefoot Nail Polish in 'Atlantis' (full size, £6.50). This is an exclusive shade to this box, which is really cool! It's a lovely mermaidy blue with what looks like raindrops floating in it- it reminds me of the Illamasqua raindrops polish, but better. Better because this one only took one swipe to reach full coverage on my nail, and better because Danglefoot polishes are all 5-free and vegan friendly! I am definitely going to be using this. You can actually buy this as a separate purchase from the Which Beauty Box UK shop here.

Flamingo Candles Raspberry Sangria Candle Jar

This is the final item and another one I'm really thrilled by- the Raspberry Sangria Candle Jar by Flamingo Candles (jar candle, £3.50). This seems to be a custom candle for the box, and smells really sweet and summery. I love the palm print- very on trend, and I do love a candle in a jar!

Final thoughts
Blimey- that was a lot of stuff to pack into one single box! And can you tell I was blown away by it? What a curation! I was so pleased that it was so full of vegan friendly, cruelty free and ethical beauty products, and every single one fitted the summer theme perfectly. There was no filler here. I can't wait to see if there will be another box and what it will contain, I'm so intrigued!

If you would like to buy a Summer Beauty Edit box, they're still available to buy, the link is here.

The Pip Box- June 2017 Review

The Pip Box June 2017

About the box
The Pip Box is a beauty subscription that sends out only cruelty free products. You can choose from the regular box or vegan box, but both will be cruelty free. For every box they sell, The Pip Box donates 50p to an animal charity.

£14.99/month, plus £3.95 P&P

What I got
The box came as a small square cardboard postage box, and when you open it up everything is all there waiting, so no extra packaging and everything is recyclable (no extra plastic). This means that everything packing wise is really eco friendly which I thought was great.

Tisserand Energy Mist

The first item is the Tisserand Energy Mist (full size, 50ml, £8.95). This contains pure essential oils of coriander, lime and orange leaf. I was worried this wouldn't smell nice because of the coriander but all of the scents combined make for a really sweet, uplifting aroma which I think will be lovely spritzed on my wrists. The bottle says you can also spray it around a room which I think is a great idea. I will definitely use this up, and probably quite quickly!

Fruu Fresh Strawberry Lip Balm

Next I pulled out this dinky little Fruu Fresh Strawberry Lip Balm (full size, £2.99).  As well as being cruelty free this is also vegan, allergen free and suitable for those with sensitive skin. It contains strawberry seed oil, coconut oil, aloe vera and vitamin E which all work to soothe, calm, hydrate and protect. The scent reminds me a lot of those chewy strawberry sweets- Chewits? It gives a lovely hydrated feeling to the lips without feeling sticky, which is great as I hate sticky lips.

Native Unearthed Sage and Lavender Natural Deodorant

This is the Native Unearthed Sage & Lavender Natural Crystal Deodorant (unsure if full size?, worth £6.49?). This is something I have always been intrigued about- a little pot of natural deodorant balm, which you scoop out between your fingers and apply directly to the skin. I think you can also get it in stick form. The mineral salts are antimicrobial to inhibit bacteria growth, which is what causes the stinky odour in our underarms! The lovely sage and lavender scent is so sweet and soothing. I am really looking forward to trying this, although I am a tad sceptical as to whether this will work well in this hot weather we're having.

Bloomtown Botanicals The Hedgerow Sweet Almond and Shea Sugar Scrub

Here we have the Bloomtown Botanicals The Hedgerow Sweet Almond & Shea Sugar Scrub (full size, £5.00). I'm not massively into scrubs- they're messy and a bit gross. But I do like that this is a natural scrub that is free from micro beads which as we now know are terrible for the environment. It has a sweet sugary scent (of course) and is quite gloopy. I think I will probably pass this on to a friend or family member.

Pure Vibrace Revitalising Hair Masque Sample

Arbonne Its A Long Story Mascara

The final 'item' was actually a mini duo set, which kind of disappointed me as I would have preferred just one full sized item. This is the Arbonne It's A Long Story Mascara and Pure Vibrance Revitalising Hair Masque. The mascara I will definitely use as I love a good mascara, but the hair masque is a bit useless as it's the tiniest little tube and I have thick hair which is well past my shoulders.

Final thoughts
For my first try of this box, this was a mixed bag. I liked the first three items I saw, then it sort of went downhill a bit. Still, it was a great mixture of items and if you like scrubs it was probably a top notch collection. I think my personal preference is the problem here more than anything. However, I will say that I think it's a bit sad when brands opt to send samples that are so small they are essentially unusable.

If you would like to try The Pip Box, their link is here.

So Susan Lip Love- June 2017 Review

So Susan Lip Love June 2017

About the bag
Every month you will receive a bag filled with beauty items from the brand So Susan (typically 3-5 items). Sometimes these items will be So Susan's other brands, Jelly Pong Pong and Trifle Cosmetics. This bag is sent from the U.S.A. Everything So Susan and it's other brands sell is cruelty free!

$20.95 per month (approx £16.20) with free shipping worldwide. You can buy a one off bag for $45.00 (approx £34.79).

What I got

So Susan Lip Love Makeup Bag

Okay so the first thing I saw this month was really strange which was the makeup bag itself which you always get and which this month has a glaring grammatical error. It says "Well behave women rarely make history' but it should say 'Well behaved women rarely make history'. It's a small thing but it's still annoying!

Han Skin Care Cosmetics 100% Natural Eyeshadow Taupey Plum

Han Skin Care Cosmetics 100% Natural Eyeshadow Taupey Plum Swatch

The first item I pulled out of the bag was this Han Skin Care Cosmetics 100% Natural Eyeshadow in Taupey Plum (Full size, 3g, $13.00/approx. £10.18). Han Skin Care Cosmetics is a natural brand and this eyeshadow is talc free and instead made with rice powder. It also contains superfruits, vitamins and plant pigments. It's not a super inspiring shade on it's own but I can see how it could be used with other colours to make a smokey eye look.

Trifle Cosmetics Atlantis Cookie Prismatic Highlighter

Trifle Cosmetics Atlantis Cookie Prismatic Highlighter Swatch

This is the Trifle Cosmetics Atlantis Cookie Prismatic Highlighter (full size, $24.00/approx. £18.79). It's supposedly in the shade Pink Galaxy but the actual container inside the box has a highlighter which is more yellow/golden. I don't know if there are two shades- there seem to be two different photos on the website of a pink one and a golden one. I'm really confused to be honest, and I would have preferred a pink one, but oh well. It's quite a nice highlighter although not outstanding compared to any I have already. It is vegan/cruelty free and contains sesame seed oil and star fruit extract.

So Susan Shadow Barricade

So Susan Shadow Barricade Swatch

The third item was this So Susan Shadow Barricade (full size $24.00/approx £18.79). This is an anti-crease eyeshadow primer, and it comes out in a creamy, yellowish sort of formula. It contains resveratrol and gotu kola extract and as always is vegan and cruelty free.

Jelly Pong Pong Jelly Puff

Jelly Pong Pong Jelly Puff

The last item is a product that is becoming familiar to people on Instagram and Twitter I think, this is the Jelly Pong Pong Jelly Puff (full size, $8.99/approx. £7.04). This one has the quote "I am not a shopaholic, I am helping the economy' which made me smile. I am still not decided on whether I think these silicone/jelly makeup sponges are a fad or a cool thing yet so watch this space for a review.

Final thoughts
I think you can probably tell this wasn't one of my favourite So Susan bags ever, but I am hopeful that next month things will get back to normal as it is a rare month that So Susan aren't on top form. I will have to find some use for the makeup bag but it won't be as my main bag because that printing error is just awkward!
